Investigators tie two Irvine residents to Chino Hills killing

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred about 10:14 p.m. on July 29 in the 2100 block of Monteverde Drive in Chino Hills. The victim, identified by the sheriff’s department as 60-year-old Shukur Aikebaer of Chino Hills, exited his home to check an electrical panel after the power to the residence was interrupted. Detectives say two suspects then shot and kidnapped Aikebaer, setting in motion a homicide investigation that remains active.
Two Irvine men identified; one found dead
The sheriff’s department named the suspects as 67-year-old Zhengfeng Bo and 66-year-old Jianquan Bo, both listed as residents of Irvine. Officials said Zhengfeng Bo is deceased. Detectives reported that Zhengfeng and the victim knew one another through a prior working relationship; other circumstances around that relationship are being investigated.
Investigators have not released additional details about the cause of Zhengfeng Bo’s death nor whether the death occurred at the scene or elsewhere. The circumstances of the electrical outage that prompted the victim to inspect the panel are also under active review, the sheriff’s department said.
Search warrant served in Irvine; evidence recovered
With assistance from the Irvine Police Department, San Bernardino County detectives served a search warrant at a residence in Irvine that Zhengfeng Bo shared with Jianquan Bo. The address listed by the sheriff’s department is in the 2400 block of Wandering Ridge Drive. Authorities said evidence was recovered during the operation; they did not disclose the nature of the items recovered.
"Anyone with information related to this case is asked to call the Homicide Detail at 909-890-4904," the sheriff’s department advised.
