Sun Valley Park in southwest Louisville suffered deliberate damage overnight into Monday when riders on four-wheelers drove across holes on the public golf course and someone used spray foam to create swastika symbols in the parking lot, Louisville Metro Councilwoman Crystal Bast said.
The vandalism hit the park’s golf course hard: Bast said the fairway on Hole No. 1 was "completely torn up," and Hole No. 4 also sustained visible damage. Photographs shared by Bast on social media show turf ripped and furrows across areas of the course where carts and maintenance equipment do not usually travel.
"Instead of spending those dollars on new improvements, we're now forced to spend taxpayer money repairing damage that never should have happened," Bast wrote.
